In celebration of International Chess Day, the One Day Open Rapid Chess Championship 2026 will be organized on Sunday, 19 July 2026, promoting the theme "Chess for Mental Health." The championship invites chess enthusiasts of all ages to participate under the inspiring Bengali slogan, "ভয় আউট, ভরসা ইন, টুর্নামেন্টে নাম দিন" (Fear Out, Confidence In – Register for the Tournament). The event is jointly organized by the Bengal Chess Association and the Sports & Clubs Relation Cell, BJP, West Bengal State Committee, with Rotary Calcutta Newbies serving as the cause partner and Reach Craft PR as the PR partner. The tournament will be held at Khudiram Anushilan Kendra, Shahid Khudiram Bose Road, Maidan, B.B.D. Bagh, Kolkata – 700021.
